Arrow How-To's

How to Load a Staple Gun

Winter, spring, summer or fall, outdoor lights can provide some productive, beautiful pop to your backyard living space. Before you jump into stringing lights in your backyard, there are a number of factors you should consider.

We’ll walk you through how to load a staple gun, specifically, the Arrow T50 Heavy Duty Staple Gun. The T50 is Arrow’s iconic model and can be used for everything from general repairs and upholstery to light trim and professional uses. It is America’s best-selling staple gun and the top choice for generations of professionals and homeowners alike for a reason.

If you’re new to purchasing and using a staple gun, loading it can perhaps be a bit intimidating — but it doesn’t have to be! Here’s how to load the most popular staple gun in the U.S. in three simple steps:

Staple Gun Loading Step 1

Like many of Arrow’s staple gun tools, the T50 has a rear-load magazine. First, remove the pusher by pushing down and in, and completely removing it from your tool.

Staple Gun Loading Step 2

Next, take a fresh strip of Arrow T50 staples. Insert the staple strip onto the open guide rail. Then, tilt the staple gun downward, letting the staples slide effortlessly to the front of the tool.

Staple Gun Loading Step 3

Finally, reinsert the pusher onto the guide rail, pushing it all the way forward until it locks into place. You’ll hear and feel it lock. That’s how to load a staple gun. You’re now ready to fire your staple gun.
