This year may have felt like a bunch of tricks, but that doesn’t mean we should miss out on the treats! This DIY Halloween porch candy holder project is a great solution to celebrating safely during COVID-19. So dig out that Arrow GT300 professional high-temp glue gun and T50 heavy-duty staple gun to get started!
Start by sanding down any rough edges on the pallet before assembly. Then if desired, spray paint your pallet and let it dry before moving on to the next steps.
Next, arrange your pallet so the boards run horizontally rather than vertically. Center your decorative banner at the top of the pallet (against the top-most horizontal board). Using your T50 heavy-duty staple gun, staple each end of the banner strings so that the decorative banner hangs when the pallet is in place on your porch.
If desired, gently wind your light strands up and over the banner string and repeat all the way across. Ours stayed in place without stapling, but depending on how heavy your lights are, you may need to secure them to the pallet with staples.
Using your tape measure or ruler, measure and mark where you’d like to glue your clothespins. We glued ours so that we’d have three rows of five bags, each spaced about 5″ apart.
Next, use your GT300 professional high-temp glue gun to secure each clothespin in place.
Finally, fill your bags with candy and hang them on to your pallet with the clothespins.
You can decorate your candy holder however you’d like! Add some fun fake spiderwebs or go crazy with gourds. Whether you're team candy bar or candy corn, don't forget to fill your treat bags with everyone's favorite goodies!
